TOWN OF EDSON MUNICIPAL APP DESIGN
The Town of Edson was receiving reports and calls from their residents who were unsure about events happening in the town and garbage pickup schedules. The Town requested the design and development of an app that addressed resident issues and provided an easy push notification system to inform residents of potential emergencies.
The app incorporates garbage pickup reminders which can be set by manually using an address or by using a device’s location. Users can choose whether to get a reminder the day before or the day or garbage pickup.
One of the features requested by the Town staff was a way for residents to “report a problem”. The app uses a simple way to take a picture and upload the picture along with some information that directly reports the issue to Town staff.
The app can be downloaded from the Apple store and the Google Play store.
