Entrust Disability Services is an Edmonton based organization focused on providing care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Many group home providers still rely on binders filled with paper to keep track of the complex meal, exercise, medication and routines for each resident. Seeking a way to track their residents’ complex needs more affectively in order to provide the best possible care, Entrust developed a software to both track and distribute information for their clients and act as a hub to connect personal care workers updating client related data daily, to be reviewed by behaviour specialists, and relayed to parents or guardians of the client. This information creates a network to a provide helpful knowledge in behaviour planning and keeping loved ones informed about the level of care the clients are receiving.
I was tasked with creating an identity for this platform that could be family friendly and still represent the advanced level of development going into this project.
The solution, Twill, reflects the thought process for the software - the sum of individual parts coming together to form a greater whole. We reflected this sentiment through the weaves of fabric. This also allowed the name to be approachable and friendly. We sought to balance the softness of the name, with a word mark based more on technology. The icon with logo reflects the roots of the name and weave of fabric.
